After couples choose a Sandals Resort, the next challenge usually appears immediately.

The room list.

At first it seems simple, until you start reading the descriptions. The names sound clear, but in practice many couples aren’t sure what the real differences are or which upgrades actually matter for a honeymoon.

The most important thing to understand first is this:

Sandals room categories are consistent in structure, but not identical in layout across every resort.

The category name tells you the service level.

The building location tells you the experience.

Once you know that, the list becomes much easier to navigate.

If you want to see the different Sandals resorts and browse the room categories available at each location, you can explore them here:

The Three Service Levels

If you’re still deciding which Sandals resort fits your honeymoon best, this guide explains how the resorts differ:

Every Sandals room falls into one of three main tiers.

Understanding these tiers matters more than memorizing every room name.

1. Luxury Level Rooms (Standard Rooms)

These are the entry categories.

They include:

• all dining

• all drinks

• activities

• airport transfers

• entertainment

In other words, you still receive the full Sandals experience.

What differs is primarily room size, view, and location within the resort.

Luxury level rooms are best for couples who:

• plan to spend most of their time around the property

• prefer a comfortable room but don’t need additional services

2. Club Level Rooms

Club Level is often misunderstood.

It is not mainly about the room; it is about added convenience.

Club Level includes:

• room service (limited hours)

• private check-in

• concierge assistance

• help with reservations

For many couples, this removes small planning tasks during the stay.

Club Level works well for honeymooners who want extra help but still plan to be out enjoying the resort most of the day.

3. Butler Suites

Butler Suites combine the room itself with personalized service.

Your butler assists with logistics and planning so you don’t have to manage reservations or schedules.

The biggest difference couples notice is not luxury, it is ease.

Mornings are slower.

Plans are handled.

You spend more time enjoying and less time organizing.

Butler suites tend to matter most for honeymoons because couples naturally spend more time in the room than during a normal vacation.

What View Names Actually Mean

Here is where confusion often happens.

Terms like:

Oceanview

Beachfront

Oceanfront

sounds precise, but they describe general positioning rather than exact sightlines.

Oceanview

Usually means you can see water from part of the room or balcony, but not necessarily directly in front.

Oceanfront

The room faces the water.

Beachfront

Located directly on or very near the beach.

Across different resorts, buildings sit at different angles, which is why two “oceanview” rooms at two resorts can feel very different.

Swim-Up, Walkout, and Soaking Tub Rooms

These describe how you access outdoor space.

Swim-Up

You can enter a shared or semi-private pool directly from your patio.

Walkout

Ground-floor room with direct garden or pool access.

Tranquility Soaking Tub

An oversized outdoor tub on a balcony or patio. Many honeymoon couples end up using this feature more than expected because it creates a private space for relaxation.

Couples often spend hours comparing two similar room names when the real difference is building location.

For example:

A lower category in a better area can feel more enjoyable than a higher category in a less convenient area.

Room names describe features.

Location describes experience.

Once you understand how the room categories work, it can help to explore the resorts and see which suites are available for your travel dates.

A Simple Way to Choose

Instead of comparing every room:

  1. Choose the right resort first

  2. Choose the service level (Luxury, Club, Butler)

  3. Then compare views and features

This process removes most of the confusion.
